Shillolo Supernews September 16

Hi everyone,
Should have called it Senteo Supernews this week!
Over the past few days, I have been working with staff and creating resources to do with the Smartboards/Smart Notebook/Smart Response/Senteos that we are lucky enough to have at LoL. Here is a bit of info, and a few random and fun links appear at the end.
But first, thanks to Kim for being the guinea pig, thanks to Marilyn for getting her system all up and running, thanks to Gerry for coming over for a lightning round of training!
Terms
Smartboard - on the wall, connected to your classroom computer.
Smart Notebook - Version 10 of this app is on your desktop, ready to use :). It is similar to Powerpoint but designed for the Smartboard.
Smart Response - App to create quizzes, loaded onto your computer over the summer.
Senteos - Remote-control-style clickers that students use to answer your Smart Response quizzes.
Class Lists
Class lists for Smart Response need to be in Excel. I have prepared these and put them in our shared LoL drive, which is the Y: drive.
Instructions
Instructions are also in the Y: drive. There is one from me called Senteo Startup, and one by Jackie Bourdon which is also very easy to understand. Both contain links to a great web site with video instructions FYI.
Getting started
If you want to use the instructions, please go ahead and do this yourself. If you would prefer that I set this up in your room, please see me to book a time. This needs to be done asap because we will be doing two all-school activities to introduce the technology to the students and to launch our TLCP. I will try to make this as stress-free as possible for you! And I can help you all year long, if you want... not to worry!

Some Links
Canadian Content: Rick Mercer and Jann Arden on the CN Tower Edgewalk, pretty darn funny, good for character study, too.

Google calendar is now more accessible to blind users

How many pages are on the Internet, interesting info and links

Last but not least, one of the best sites ever, Math In The Movies
